6 Exercise Tips That Really Work

Sorry, there’s just no way around it, if you want to get in shape you have to eat well and get a lot of regular exercise. A pill isn’t going to do it all for you. Of course, you want to optimize the results you get from your exercise routine and these exercise tips will help you do just that.

Before you start an exercise program make sure that you talk to your doctor. This is particularly important if you’re really overweight and haven’t spent much time working out or if you have some underlying health problems. Ask your doctor what you need to do to modify an exercise routine so you can work around those issues.

Here are some exercise tips that you should keep in mind and you will get more out of your workouts:

1. If possible, work out with a friend. It is much easier to stick with a workout routine if you and your friend are doing it together. There is a certain amount of peer pressure, neither of you wants to be the undisciplined one and neither of you wants to let the other one down.

2. If you are new to working out try to find a trainer to work with at least until you get a good routine worked out. After you’ve gotten the basics mastered you can either continue to work out with the trainer (this can be another great motivator) or, if your budget is tight you can give up the personal trainer and do it yourself.

3. Do not go nuts on the cardio aspect of your workout. Many people make this mistake. They think that spending a lot of time on the treadmill or the elliptical is good, and it is, but the problem is that your body gets used to that level of exertion and eventually your results will actually go down.

4. This one goes along with number 3, do several types of cardio exercises. Don’t allow your body to get too used to a certain routine. You should change your workout routine at least every 6 weeks or so. This will really maximize your results. Another benefit of changing things up regularly is that you will lessen repetitive motion injuries that occur, you guessed it, when you do the same movements over and over again.

5. When you do weight training (and everyone should, yes, even women) don’t make the mistake of going too fast when you do a repetition. Many people go so fast that they are actually allowing momentum to do most of the work for them. This greatly decreases the effectiveness of the exercise. You want a very slow and controlled movement. Not only will you get the most out of the exercise you will also lessen the chances of injuring yourself.

6. You may not hear this one too often, but if you are in a time crunch and you can’t really do a full workout (some cardio and weight training) and you have to pick one or the other, choose the weight portion of your workout. Weight training will also have a cardiovascular benefit and the boost in metabolism you get by weight training will last you long after your workout is over.

I hope you have found these exercise tips to be helpful. To really be successful in your workout routine, it’s important that you find something that you really enjoy doing and then just stick with it.

Each day people are surrounded by advertising everywhere they go. How do you get your message to stand out from the rest and be noticed by your future customer? An eye-catching postcard is the quickest and most cost-effective way to get big results for your business. Follow these ten tips for postcard marketing and your direct mail response will skyrocket.

1. Your postcard should stand out from the rest. When sifting through circulars, if a piece feels more substantial or stands out, the customer is more likely to pull it out of the pile. A heavy stock always stands apart from the usual flimsy offers in the mailbox, and using full color on at least one side of the card will boost your chances of being noticed.

2. Protect your postcards. Adding a UV coating prevents smearing and illegibility. A UV coating adds brilliance and shine to make your postcard pop, and also it protects your message from the hazards of mailing.

3. Order in bulk. To save costs order in large quantities whenever possible and warehouse the postcards for future mailings. Storing brings significant savings when your content is consistent.

4. One-day turnarounds. Be sure to have a printer on call who can meet last minute deadlines without hidden charges. Sometimes holding off on the final design is the best call. Make sure your printer is as flexible as the market demands your business to be.

5. Mail more than once. The best time to be in front of your prospect is when he or she is about to buy. Not knowing exactly when that may be, your best option is to capture mindshare—the creation of consumer awareness so that your product is the first thing buyers think of when they are ready to make a purchase. Most studies show that a minimum of four mailings to the same list has a positive effect and increases mindshare.

6. It pays to test. Vary your offer, the image, the text, when you mail, to whom you mail, and the call to action. Never change more then one variable at a time. Make sure to track the results, which may surprise you. Sometimes a higher price can yield a greater response or certain months, weeks, or days can prove more effective than others.

7. The immediacy factor. Without envelopes or packaging, the postcard’s simplistic design takes advantage of the immediacy factor. Don’t muck it up by hiding what you have to say in confusing designs. Choose an image that helps convey your message and be concise with your text. You have only two to three seconds to grab your customer’s attention.

8. Ask for the order. Are you trying to increase your website traffic? Looking to get more people in your store? Every postcard should ask for a response—something you want from the customer. Limited time offers, free reports, and website deals are all techniques that can help.

9. The list. An updated, targeted list is the most important part of the process. Make sure the contact information is current and that you respect those who wish to be removed from your list. Play with the list by targeting different zip codes, past customers, and blind markets. And remember to always track the response.

10. When you have a winner, do it again. Tinker with the design, add special features, but know when to stop. When you find a postcard that works, keep on using it!

Forum Link Building Strategy

Forum link building is a very effective strategy for building incoming links to your website. You can do this manually, or you can do it through certain tools or services.

There are some tips to keep in mind when posting on a forum in order to build links back to your website.

1. Make sure that the forum you are posting on is highly ranked and gets a lot of traffic. You can post on certain forums that are not relative to your niche, but that are ranked high in Google and receive a lot of traffic. That is one place to get some high quality links, but you should of course also focus on high-quality forums that are in your niche. Do a search online for forums that are relevant to your website, check their rankings, and post on those that are high-quality.

2. Do not spam. This is the number one rule in all forums but many people continue to do it anyway. Spamming will either get you kicked out of the forum, or it will certainly not compel anyone to click on your link to visit your site, which is the whole purpose of posting on a forum in the first place. Make your comments relevant to the topic and informational if you have an answer to a question. Otherwise, you can ask a question too.

3. Fill out your profile. All forums allow you to complete a profile which gives more information about you, your website, your business, and why you are participating. Fill out the profile as completely as you can, and make sure to include a photograph.

As mentioned earlier, you can automate your forum link building with certain tools if you choose to do so. There are link building services that can create a profile for you, post comments that you have pre-programmed or that the service has helped you develop, create a signature with your link, and more.

Like all tools that automate marketing, link building services only run well if their customers are satisfied, so if you can find a service or tool that’s been around for a while, it’s a pretty safe bet that it works well. If it didn’t, it wouldn’t last long. Services that do this type of posting for you will have trained or experienced staff that understand the ins and outs of link building and what types of posts will get you traffic. You should be posting information that is useful, that will bring in targeted hits, and you should be posting in the best places. You can do this yourself or hire someone to do it for you. The nice thing about having a service is that they will even follow up with your posts and reply on your behalf. And they can even create threads that are relevant, instead of just posting in already existing threads, and this is forum link building made easy.

Flip This House – Be Willing To Work

If your idea of getting rich is buying this house, renovating it and then shouting to the heavens, “Please let me flip this house!”, you are definitely on the right track. Flipping houses is a very lucrative business. It used to be more so before the economy took a turn for the worse but if you make the property and the deal to go with it as sweet as possible you can still make a profit in this economy.

Think about it, even if you can’t flip this house right away you could still make some money by renting it to a family in need. Sounds like a win-win situation to me. You get a monthly cash flow and your tenant gets a nice house to live in.

So, how do you get started? If you have the money to invest then all you have to do is find a property that fits your criteria. You can find properties by scouring the classified ads in the paper, placing your own ads specifying what type of property you are looking for, making a list of the pending foreclosures in the legal listings of the paper, or go down to the county clerk’s office and go through the public records of foreclosures there.

All of these can be time-consuming and tedious but think about it like you are going on a treasure hunt. The more you look the better off you are and more likely you are to find that one little gem of a property that will bring you in a lot of money.

When looking at the classified ads in the paper, look specifically for ads that state ‘seller is motivated’ or ‘must sell’. If these properties have been on the market for a long time the seller will be happy to give you an even better deal than what their original listing price was.

So, what happens if you do not have enough money to buy this property? Do you have to abandon the idea of investing in real estate? The answer to this question is a resounding NO! You could try to get a loan from a bank but may find that the banks have tightened up their lending criteria and that it would be easier to try to pull the money out of a certain bodily orifice than getting it from a bank, there is another option.

There are such entities out there called hard money lenders. Hard money lenders will lend money to investors on the basis of the value of the property alone and expect a certain amount of return on their investment in you.

After you get the money from a hard lender then you need to put together a crew to do the renovations or maybe have a crew already assembled and on standby so you can get started with the renovations as soon as you get the money. No sense in wasting time, right? The sooner you get the reno done the sooner you can start making a profit when you flip this house.

Fitting Weight Loss Into Your Work Week

Losing weight can be difficult if you hold a full or part time job. Finding the time to exercise, as well as to eat properly, can be stressful. For working weight loss success, you must make time for yourself as much of a priority as possible.

Use these tips to fit weight loss into your busy work week:

Schedule Time for Working Out:
Make an appointment in your calendar, and stick to it. You’re meeting with your most important client, after all – yourself. If you struggle with being consistent, make an appointment at the gym with a trainer, or work out with a friend. This gives you a real deadline, and helps you to stick to your goal.

Plan Your Meals:
Take time once a week to plan your meals and snacks. Choose snacks that are both healthy and easy to pack. Pack your lunch instead of eating out for better control of your calorie intake. Fast food calories add up quickly, so if you must eat out choose a salad or grilled sandwich.

Cook Ahead:
Make time once a week, or even once a month, to cook large batches of food in advance. Brown ground turkey, chop lettuce and veggies for salads and snacks, grill chicken breast. Any preparation that you can do ahead of time will save you hours in the kitchen later in the week.

Exercise at Work: Many companies are beginning to offer fitness clubs on campus as an employee perk. If yours does, be sure to take advantage. If you’re not so lucky, take time to walk on your lunch break. Getting up and moving around will also help you to avoid that afternoon slump.

Keep an Exercise Video for Backup: We all have those super stressful days where there’s simply no time to squeeze in a trip to the gym. Keep an exercise tape or two that you enjoy at home – some are as short as 15 minutes. This will allow you to squeeze in your exercise before or after work, without setting foot outside your door.

Fitting weight loss into your work week can be accomplished with a bit of prior planning. Take the time to plan ways to reach your fitness goals this week. You’ll find that you’re more productive and feel better, because you’re doing something for yourself. After all, you will still be living in your body long after retirement – make sure it’s a healthy one!

First Steps To Link Building Campaigns

Link building campaigns are essential to the health of any business’s website. Making sure that you have enough inbound links to your web content is crucial, because these are indicators to the search engines that your site is worth ranking highly. The first step in getting links to your site is to create good content. Even if you follow all of the other steps that will can help get your site out there in front of potential backlinks, you will get much better results if your site provides information that people are willing to link to.

There are many ways that you can organize your link building campaigns. One of the first steps to get you started is to submit your website or blog to the major search engines which are AOLSearch, AllTheWeb, Ask, Bing, Google, LookSmart, Lycos, and Yahoo. First check on each one of these to make sure your site isn’t already listed. If it is not, submit your site to the most relevant category. Some of these sites are paid and some are free. If you do not have a budget, submit your site only to the free ones until you have enough that you can invest in one or more of the paid sites.

Next, you will go to the minor search engines. There are 26 of these to date: A9,About, Accoona, Alexa, AltaVista, Answers, AvivaDirectory, Dmoz, Excite, Gigablast, Gimpsy, GoGuides, Jayde, JoeAnt, LinkCentre, MozDex, MyGreenCorner, NetQuantum, Netscape, Qango, SearchMonster, Skaffe, TowerSearch, UmdumWebDirectory, WoWDirectory, and iWon.

Then you will want to go into some Niche Search Engines and Directories that are specialized to your target market. Just go into your search engine and do a search for directories and search engines in your market. You may be surprised at how many come up!

Now you’ll go into an area that many overlook. That is the area of search engines that cater to a particular geographical area. If your product or service is geared towards a worldwide audience, you can, of course, skip this step, but it’s a great way to get ahead in a local region. Take a look at the following link to get some ideas: http://www.searchenginewiki.com/CategorySearchEnginesRegional

Remember when you are submitting your sites, and creating the descriptions for them that you don’t want to be overly promotional. You can also avoid repeating the name of your website or blog within the description (contrary to keyword optimization intuition). The simple reason for this is that many directories will not accept your site if you violate these conditions.

After you’ve submitted your site or blog everywhere that you wanted to, wait a couple of months and then check to see if it is listed. Many will have you listed in that time, and others will take quite a while. Also keep in mind that certain directories may reject your site without notifying you in any way. Don’t let this discourage your link building campaigns. Focus on the positive results.
