Paintings of Food and Wine

I’ve been buying paintings of food and wine to resell to restaurants. I make a good profit doing this. I have a real talent for matching the painting of food and wine to the restaurant that should hang it in their dining room. I have purchased over one hundred paintings so far and I’ve sold over eighty of them to restaurant owners.

I sold a painting of food and wine to a martini bar that was opening up in a neighboring city. I took a photo of the Michael Godard painting called Pop Olive and took it straight to the owner in person. He loved the painting and hung it in his bar.

The Michael Godard paintings always seem to resell the best of all of the food and wine paintings that I buy. There was one called Olives Gone Wild that I sold to a martini bar on the East Coast. The restaurant owner thought it was fantastic and looked fun.

I saw an awesome painting in the food and wine section of a local studio. The painting was called Chocolatey. I bought the painting and have approached a couple of candy stores to purchase it. I haven’t gotten a taker, yet, but I’m going to keep trying.

There is a pie shop in my town that I sold an original oil painting of an oversized apple. There are always a lot of food and wine paintings at the galleries I frequent. I liked the apple painting and also bought a sunflower painting by the same artist.

I bought an acrylic painting from an artist in North Hollywood. His painting called Passion Splash is categorized as a food and wine painting because the woman in the painting is drinking red wine. I sold it to a wine bar in Miami. I was sad to see that huge eyed woman go.

I bought several food and wine paintings from him on that trip. One of the paintings was entitled For a Perfect Cherry and I decided to keep that one and hang it in my dining room. The red in the painting is fantastic and so beautiful. I liked to display this food and wine painting with a spotlight on it.

I was able to resell a food and wine painting to a fish shop in New York City. The fish shop had an upscale clientele and they wanted to put some artwork on the walls of the lobby. I found an original oil painting by Marie M. Vlasic of a lobster. It was such a good food and wine painting and it looked at home in the fish shop.

There was a dessert shop owner in Denver that contacted me and asked me to keep an eye out for food and wine paintings that featured pears. She had developed several pear recipes that were fast becoming her signature dishes and she wanted to address that with the art hanging in her establishment.

I found a lovely oil on wood food and wine painting of four pears on a glass table. The artist paints a new painting every day. I commissioned him to make me six more paintings of pears and then I sold all seven to the dessert shop owner that had contacted me. She was thrilled with the pieces and invited me to visit sometime.

I have a friend that owns a local beer joint. I immediately thought of him when I was on a buying trip for food and wine paintings. I saw an oil painting on stretched canvas that featured a close-up of an unopened bottle of beer. It was perfect for him. I bought it and it still hangs at the end of his bar.

My little sister was redecorating her shop and I found a great original oil food and wine painting. The artist’s subject was a large spoon and strawberry jam. The piece looked delicious! I gave it to her shop and she hung it in the area that she sells gourmet jams.

Preventing Bone Disease in Healthy Aging

Each day we live, we grow older failing to see that our bones and muscles demand activities to continue strength, endurance and resistance to life’s nasty living demands. Our bones need continued activities through out our lives starting as a child. Until we turn 30, the bones continue to build. After this age, the bones begin to disintegrate. You can cutback this degeneration process by taking care of your bones in youthful days.

How it is achieved:
Bone health is achieved through activities, such as exercise. In addition, you maintain healthy bones by increasing calcium. Supplements are available, which include the FDA marked remedies to help reduce bone loss from natural aging.

Taking calcium is very important during our entire life. Children should drink 2 cups of milk each day and adults 3 cups. Calcium in food is better to take than pills because you get more of it; food sometimes doesn’t have the right amounts in it due to the way it has been processed. Get that calcium in your body at an early age and keep it there. Besides calcium however, your bones demand a mixture of magnesium. You will also need a healthy dose of phosphorous. Vitamin D facilitates calcium to flow through the bloodstream. Free flowing bloods make a healthier you.

To improve bones, we also need to start at an early age getting plenty of vitamin D. As we get older, we have a tendency to stay out of the sun more. Don’t sit in the house all day. Rather try to get outside around noon and get some sun with all those vitamin D rays. Supplements can be used but again the sun is better. Maybe take a walk for 15-20 minutes each day to get the sun.

As we aging into the later years of our life, we have to keep those bones strong. You can benefit from weight bearing works, such as walking. Keeping those bones strong will help you survive falls. Falls is one of the leading reasons of bone breakage or fractures, especially as we grow older.

Unfortunately, adolescents don’t realize the importance of taking care of our bones. As these adolescents pass puberty however, their bones start to decline. Once a person reaches 50, the bones start to deteriorate, which puts you at high risk of fractures, disease and breakage. As the bones weaken, the muscles and joints will also degenerate. Injures then can lead to gouty arthritis, arthritis, osteoporosis and so on.

The high-risks of bone fractures are charted, which include hip fractures being the most common injure amongst the elderly. Hip fractures may sound like a minor ordeal, yet the truth is hip fractures are responsible for some deaths.

Weak bones are avertable even once you are middle age. It’s never to late to repair or mend our bodies.

Staying fit is the key to preventing risks of disease, hip fractures etc since the bones will stay healthy. In view of the fact, you want to consider a daily schedule, which includes activities and exercise. You want to keep those muscles free to move, since the muscles protect the bones. Stretch workouts and exercise will prevent your joints from feeling stiff as well, which joints support the muscles and bones.

When you exercise you, maintain weight. As you start to age, the body fat increases to more than 30%. This is too much added weight for the muscles, joints and bones. Carrying around this kind of weight on the feet, legs, etc will cause problems later. Maintaining your weight will help prevent and lower your risks of heart disease, bone disease, high-blood, high-cholesterol, diabetes and so on.

Overbooking your Time is a Vacation Destroyer

When planning a vacation it is often very difficult to set priorities from a distance. San Francisco is really no different than any other vacation destination in that manner. In fact, as a vacation destination, this city has so much to offer that the problem isn’t finding enough stuff to do; it is limiting yourself to only doing the things you want most to do because of time constraints. Unless you are going to be in this great city for a month, it would be very easy to overload your itinerary.

Here are a few suggestions for pacing yourself while traveling as well as providing adequate downtime for all family members while visiting San Francisco.

1) Remember that this is a vacation not a military exercise. Be especially aware of young children as they can tire easily and aren’t much fun when overtired. Plan rest times in addition to activities in order to provide much needed breaks for everyone that is traveling with you.
2) Remember that the little ones have things that are important to them too and your ideas and their ideas about what will interest them the most aren’t always the same. You don’t want a child with hurt feelings, especially when that could have been so easily avoided by simply offering your child a choice.
3) Keep in mind that while most things are great to do as a family, some alone time or split time, isn’t necessarily a bad thing-even when on vacation.
4) Plan your day with extra time in between attractions to accommodate for transportation issues, bathroom breaks, and any number of things that can come up. There is no point in being frustrated over the unavoidable, especially when on vacation.
5) Limit yourself to activities in the same general area of town on a given day so that you aren’t spending the vast majority of your day getting from point A to point B or looking for a parking spot. It is best to park and walk as much as possible or rely on public transportation in San Francisco whenever walking is unavoidable.
6) Let your young ones select at least one place a day (within reason) to eat. Obviously no one wants to eat at McDonald’s every day of your trip except your little ones, but by allowing them to have a choice you are making them feel special and giving them something to look forward to when standing in a long line for something you want to do more than they do.
7) Plan activities for younger children in the middle of other activities. This will keep them somewhat appeased if they know they have something to look forward to later and will save you from a long line of endless tantrums.
8) Plan for some sort of restful activity in the middle of the day if you aren’t close enough to your hotel for an afternoon nap. Even if it’s ducking into a library or bookstore to read quietly for an hour. You will be amazed at how much just a quick rest can do to perk up the spirits of everyone in your group.

These things won’t guarantee a smooth trip but will greatly increase the likelihood of less bouts of angry, overtired children and fed up over tired mom and dad as well. The most important thing about any vacation is that you take the time to enjoy yourself and your time together as a family.

Practicing Healthy to Improve your Personal Life

When you practice healthy habits and behaviors, you are improving your personal life. We all need tools to practice good habits and behaviors, which includes positive influences, reading materials, support, resources, and so on.

How to practice healthy habits through reading:
If you enjoy reading you will find it easy to learn. On the other hand, if you despise reading then you will need to learn how to change your attitude. Reading is the best thing you can do, since it gives you insight, resources and a healthy mind. The material you choose should be educational, rather than foul. Reading a Playboy is not healthy, since it is a defilement of the flesh.

To get the most out of your reading consider what you want to learn. Do you want to learn how to manage your money? If so then choose books that help you to set up budgets and manage your cash. Do you want to learn how to become a better person? If so then pick up books that, guide you to success. Remember everyone has his or her own ideas as to how to gain success. As you read the materials, consider your needs and wants.

When you start reading and feel bored, skip through the books until you find a topic that holds your interest. Reading materials can start out boring, yet if you continue reading you just might find a pot of gold. When you are reading, if you discover what you learned works, then put it to good use. Practice each day your new discoveries so that you will never leave them behind.

If you come to areas where you find it difficult to understand, rewrite the information until you grasp its meaning. Sometimes a word will hinder you from learning. Instead of dwelling on a word, move ahead. When you read it helps to put yourself in the material. Pretend you are a character acting out the scene. This helps you to learn, build skills and move ahead.

Sometimes it helps to learn with other people. If you find it difficult to read without interruptions, ask friends and/or family members to join you. Learning together is a healthy way to improve your personal life.

Once you find out what you want to learn, start reading put your new ideas to work. Take possession of what you learned. Authors write books to give you clues on bettering your life. Use the information and the author will thank you. Take notes. When you find areas that help you to improve, take notes. Use the notes to your benefit.

Taking action:
When you take action you are putting what you learn to good use. When you start to take action you learn instructions first that move you to improvement. You can learn to take action by following instructions and practicing what you learn.

If you make mistakes along the way, learn from those mistakes. Do not take a sledge hammer and beat yourself down. Mistakes are a part of learning. In addition, take control of your emotions. The emotions are tricky, slimy critters that can be either your friend or your worst enemy. Take control.

Once you learn new skills, learn to accept your new way of living. As you are learning you can also set visuals up in your mind that guide you to becoming the new you. Use your critical thinking cap to guide you in the right course. When those light bulbs come on do not allow them to banish. Allow the lights that click on in your head guide you to improving your personal life.

Origins, Babylonians

The Babylonians are generally acknowledged to have originated the practice and science of astrology. Their astrological charts enabled them to predict the recurrence of seasons and certain celestial events. So, in the beginning and for more than 2,000 years, astrology and astronomy were the same science.

Babylonian astrology was introduced to the Greeks early in the 4th century BCE and, through the studies of Plato, Aristotle, and others, astrology came to be highly regarded as a science. It was soon embraced by the Romans (the Roman names for the zodiacal signs are still used today) and the Arabs and later spread throughout the entire world.

While earliest astrology was used to bring a sense of order out of apparent chaos, it was soon employed to predict weather patterns, primarily for agricultural purposes. It was eventually widened to include forecasts of natural disasters, war and other events in the affecting the human condition. Once success in these fields was established, it was a natural evolution for astrology to be used as a means for advising for kings and emperors and, in time, the population at large.

The zodiac (which is derived from the Greek word meaning circle of animals) is believed to have developed in ancient Egypt and later adopted by the Babylonians. Early astrologers knew it took twelve lunar cycles (i.e., months) for the sun to return to its original position. They then identified twelve constellations that they observed were linked to the progression of the seasons and assigned them names of certain animals and persons (in Babylonia, for example, the rainy season was found to occur when the sun was in a particular constellation which was then named Aquarius, or water bearer).

Around the year 2000 BCE, Babylonian astrologers believed that the sun, moon, and the five planets known at that time (Jupiter, Mars, Mercury, Saturn, and Venus) possessed distinct powers. Mars, for example, appeared to be red and was associated with aggression and war.
