Why Use a Humidor?

If you are not an experienced cigar smoker, you may be wondering why cigar aficionados use humidors. Humidors are used to store and protect cigars so that they are kept at their peak flavor. A humidor works by keeping a cigar at a constant temperature, somewhere between 68 and 70 degrees Fahrenheit, and about 70-72% humidity.

Many cigar aficionados claim that the ideal temperature for storing cigars is 70 degree F. Any lower will tend to age the cigar, rather than keep it at a constant level. Humidors are not meant to age, but rather to preserve the integrity, flavor, and color of the cigar.

What should you look for when purchasing a humidor? The good humidor should close completely, with a tight fitting lid that will keep the cigars well kept from the elements and prevent any exchange of moisture. Seams should be smooth and well fitted for cigars. Cedar, especially Spanish cedar is ideal for the interior of the humidor. Of course, make certain your brand of cigars fits well into any humidor you are considering purchasing.

Who regulates pre-paid legal plans?

Pre-paid legal service providers are required to provide either a written
agreement of the services provided in their plans, or at least a written
communication concerning the services covered, together with the fees to
be charged for services not covered in the written agreement of membership.

However, most people gloss over “terms and conditions” and just sign the
agreement assuming they are covered for most legal services. This usually
gives rise to frequent complaints about the service, fee disputes and
complaints about attorneys.

Generally, if you have any complaint with your service, you should first
address any such complaint with your service provider. Contact them to get
information regarding their in-house complaint process and settlement of
disputes. If you are unsatisfied, then it helps to know who regulates your
kind of legal insurance.

Your state’s Department of consumer affairs licenses and regulates all
pre-paid legal plans. Prepaid legal service companies are required to
register with the department prior to commencing business and appoint a
sales representative. Further regulation can be provided by your local bar
association.

Who is involved in Legal services?

When you subscribe to a pre-paid legal service, you are likely to deal
with an attorney and a number of other individuals and organisations who
are involved in one way or another with the service. It’s important to
understand the role of each participating party in a legal service plan,
particularly when you’re unhappy with the service or when fee disputes or
any other litigation with your provider arises.

So, who is involved in your pre-paid legal arrangement?

Your Lawyer

You get to choose your attorney from a pool of attorneys in the network.
Your lawyer is your point of contact for any phone advice or office
consultation. He is the one who furnishes other legal services specified
in your written agreement with your provider: he drafts your will, reviews
simple contracts for you, writes letters on your behalf and makes phone
calls to adverse third parties.
If you are unsatisfied with the quality of work you are getting from your
current attorney in the network then you have the choice of choosing
alternate attorneys. You can also make a complaint to your provider’s
in-house charge of complaints.

If you benefit from legal services under a group plan scheme then there are
a number of parties who are involved in this scheme.
First the contracted firm, just as is the case with an individual plan, is
the one which provides all the legal help through its network of attorneys.
There are also two parties involved in the deal: a plan administrator and a
plan sponsor.

A plan sponsor is the organisation you are member of, which sponsors your
legal plan. Your sponsor can either choose to provide the legal services as
a fringe-benefit, as is the case with most employers, pre-charge for the
service – universities usually charge for any legal service as part of
tuition fees – or charge low-costs, as do trade unions under a
group-bargaining scheme.

Your plan administrator is the person appointed by your sponsor to arrange
for the panel of lawyers from the contracted firm to provide services,
collects all the fees paid into a pre-paid plan, publicizes the plan and
handles enrolment and marketing. The administrator may be a an employee of
the sponsor, an insurance company or an outside firm.

Regulating Authority

Authorities that regulate pre-paid plans provide you with an outline of how
pre-paid legal services are managed and also an outlet in case there are
any complaints.
Individual pre-paid legal plans are generally regulated by your state
department of consumer affairs.
If you are an employee participating in a group plan funded by your
employer, then the legal services are covered and regulated under the
deferral Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA).

Whisky 101

Scotch has undoubtedly been elevated to the top spot of most popular spirit however it is said that if that spirit was not made in Scotland then it has no right baring the name. The land itself lends to this spirit and what is taken s naturally replenished.

Scotch whisky is said to be a nobleman among spirits brought about primarily by what mother earth has to offer. This makes it a popular drink for the naturalist among us. Scotland is so abundant in natural recourses from the moors of peat to the endless flowing fields of barley and wheat which is why it is the perfect place for brewing this tasty drink.

The fine art of distilling has traveled generations; each step of the way gaining knowledge and refinement as distilling and maturing the fine malt gives way to what it is now. There are two kinds of whiskies in production in Scotland today thanks in part to the creation of the still in 1831. One of those is the single grain variety and the other is the blended malt variety.

In the past there was only single malt whisky. Now there is malt whisky made from several grains which are blended to create the final product. This malt is bottled in select quantities which are referred to as single malt. Some of the more famous blends are now blended with what’s known as a grain whisky.

Distilleries are in the heart of the country side and use the ingredients of the land. Some grow their own wheat and barley to control what they use in production. Some use reputable farmers to which give great service for a good cause creating some of the finest spirit in the world.

The use of natural springs and rivers is very common practice as well. As a matter of fact the Skye River runs right through the region that holds the title of malt capital of Scotland. Once the mashing process is complete, the drying starts.

There have been bottles of fine scotch coming from Islay in the very south of Scotland’s shoreline going for as much as $7,000.00. A very select liquor store in Rhode Island placed this product on the shelves and within 24 hours 20 bottles where snatched up. This is a definite indication of the sheer quality that the company stands buy and promotes with pride.

Where Are The Disneyland Characters?

A Disneyland vacation would not be complete
without the Characters that we all know and love so
well. Often, however, people leave Disneyland
disappointed – simply because they never found
their favorite character. The key to finding the
characters you love is in knowing where to look for
them in the first place.

Start with the Character Breakfast. Here, you will
probably see Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Snow
White, Mary Poppins, Jasmine, Ariel, Minnie and
Mickey Mouse, and many others. If you miss your
favorites at the breakfast, don’t despair – simply go
find them! Many characters will be on hand, right
inside the gates, to greet you as you arrive in the
morning as well.

Start in Toon Town, where all of the Disney
Characters live. Visit their homes to see if you can
get a glimpse of them. Go early, while they may still
be at home! Be sure to visit Goofy’s Kitchen as well,
since many characters pop in and out throughout the
day. If you’ve been through Toon Town, and you still
haven’t seen your favorite character, your next stop
should be Fantasyland. Different characters can be
located telling stories throughout Fantasyland.

When Is The Best Time To Be At Disneyland?

When you are planning your Disneyland vacation,
you should note that some days are better than,
others at the park. The days that you choose to be
there will depend greatly on whether you are more
interested in attractions or entertainment – or both.

For instance, Tuesday’s, Wednesday’s, and
Thursday’s are the days when you will have shorter l
ines for the attractions, because there will be fewer
people there. On the other hand, the entertainment
on those nights cannot compare to the entertainment
that is offered on the weekends. If entertainment is
important, plan your visit to Disneyland for the
weekend.

If you will be at Disneyland for several days, however,
plan to ride the attractions on Tuesday, Wednesday
and Thursday, and then enjoy the entertainment, as
well as the other things the park has to offer on the
other days. If you are visiting during the off-season,
you should note that entertainment usually isn’t
offered on weekdays. Also remember that the park
really fills up as the day wears on, so try to ride the
attractions in the morning if possible!
